Kenwood House

This structure was built as a gentleman's country home and was later enlarged and decorated by the famous Scottish architect Robert Adam, starting in 1764. The house contains period furniture and paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Gainsborough, and Turner, among others. It's also a venue for special visiting exhibitions and evening concerts (at which time admission is charged). In the summer, there are concerts and fireworks displays by the lake nearby.

Open: Apr-Oct daily 10am-6pm; Nov-Mar daily 10am-4pm.Free admission.Tube: Northern Line to Golders Green, then Bus 210.
